This week we talked about the colourful beach huts you find on the beaches. Sadly I don't think we have them in Western Australia but their are a number of beaches in the Eastern States where you can find them along with the UK too. I love them. So much so that a couple of years back I built one for my girls as a cubby complete with it's own sign.
To begin with we started painting our own beach house which my wonderful stepdad had cut out of some leftover timber (which explains the unusual shape of the roof), though we only completed the base colour so far.

All the kids had to draw their idea of a beach hut. As you can see, we ended up with all sorts of shapes and sizes. Next week they can have free reign adding colour using watercolours and/or pencil them in. I can't wait to see how they all turn out.
