I forgot to mention that our topic for this term is the sea. We've talked about the shape of dolphins, starfish, seahorses and coral to name a few and even looked at how they are illustrated in books. This week we looked at the details found on shells, starfish and sea sponges, the circles, waves and bumps in their surfaces, and all had a turn drawing some of them. We then set up a still life (above) and set about drawing this.

After all that drawing they needed some colour so the group was given the choice of chalk pastels, oil pastels and pastel pencils to colour in their artwork.
